AFMC Preparing to Launch MEDPREPP: A New Initiative to Support Medical Learners with Funding from the CMA Foundation

For immediate release OTTAWA, ONTARIO – April 2, 2025 – The Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) is proud to announce the launch

Canada lacks a unified voice for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars working in our medical schools. A new entity is being formed – by learners for learners – to facilitate advocacy, networking and communication among these groups.

AFMC is proud to support the formation of this independent, pan-national group. To date, an Interim Leadership Group (ILG) has been identified, consisting of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from across the medical schools. Their goal is to define the objectives, structure, and governance model for the organization, and to facilitate the transition to a permanent model. The ILG has convened twice so far and is working to reach more learners nationwide.
